Reducing purchasing costs
Summary
Our client, a major retailer, was becoming increasingly uncompetitive as a result of their poor supply chain.
All internal attempts to improve efficiency and cut costs had failed.
We developed a process for removing ‘avoidable’ costs from the supply chain, and embedded it into the organisation of 120 buyers.
Over 48 months we managed a programme that reduced the cost of goods for resale by £710m – this was independently audited by the client.
