Barloworld Handling are a leading provider of material handling solutions to the industrial and public sector. Their primary business focuses on the contract leasing of materials handling equipment, contract maintenance, and breakdown service provision across the UK and northern Europe.
Barloworld face pressure to increase sales growth, reduce operational costs and improve the standards of customer service provided. The recent introduction of leading edge mobile technology for field based engineers was recognised as an opportunity to help achieve these aims. Identifying people with the potential to drive the necessary changes to processes, structure and culture was a key part of the programme. In addition, a Headquarters initiative to optimize employee value-added focused the attention of the HR team upon selection development and retention.
