Developing a common approach to best practice
Summary
Our sponsor, Director of Transformation, was responsible for the merger of two brands. He knew that in order to successfully drive this merger globally, a wealth of challenging and complex projects would be commissioned - he needed a consistent approach to delivering projects. He also wanted to seek out best practice and share this across his teams and he wanted a medium for driving continuous performance improvement not just in his area but in other areas across the Bank. Boxwood was selected to deliver a solution. We worked with senior project managers from around the globe, many with 10 plus years of investment banking project experience, to build a collection of resources for different types of project. We built consensus around what was world class and developed new material when this was required.
The range and scale of the project workload is immense but now the sponsor has toolkit which he knows is world-class, it is being used and it is the best head-start he could have given to his team. They have a common language, common approach and a baseline for continuous improvement. As a result his team work smarter, new recruits and contractors are effective and quicker and other PMs across the bank are improving.
