Broadband provider

Boxwood, 2007

Combining 2 ISPs

Summary

During the recent consolidation of the UK ISP market, Boxwood was asked to assist with the post-acquisition merger of a large volume of broadband customers into an existing ISP operation.

Working with the small acquisition team, we scoped the merger and teased out essential information from the wider organisation that was necessary to guide this major business change. Information was assembled to support key decisions required at Board level addressing major issues such as the naming the new brand, customer communications, technology selections and organisational design options.

Within 8 weeks we mobilised a team of approx 250 staff consisting of strategists, various technical experts, marketing specialists, and project and operations staff. We constructed a programme brief, detailed budget and an associated governance structure that allowed a rapid and pragmatic transfer of employees and customers to a new network. Boxwood remained on the programme for approximately 9 months to provide coaching to the programme director and his direct reports.
