Delivering sustainable cost savings in ‘Purchased Services’
Summary
Two major PLC companies had recently merged bringing together their respective people, assets and consolidated annual budgets. Boxwood was engaged to assist with a cost cutting exercise required to bridge a £25m profit expectation gap.
Working with the joint client team we pieced together data from all corners of the business. A revised ‘Purchased Services’ budget was prepared that was activity driven and a guide to managing suppliers was established.
The project delivered £24m annualised savings and was short-listed for ‘Project of the Year Award’ at the company’s annual award ceremony.
