Employer Direct

Trinity Horne, 2004

Employer Direct

Summary

Trinity Horne worked with the Employer Direct, part of Jobcentre Plus to reduce cost, drive behavioural change among managers and develop a lasting management framework that would achieve a consistent approach to business processes and work management. As a key workstream within a wide ranging development plan for Employer Direct, the release of capacity created by this project played a significant part in the choice to reinvest 65 fte to new services and close two contact centres with a headcount saving of 139.

The programme included an active and improved management style and a sustainable management framework; ironing out of inconsistencies; agreement of targets and key performance indicators; training and specialist coaching; transfer of knowledge; measurement of performance, work activities and resource availability; and regular reviews. Trinity Horne supported all levels of managers throughout the programme.

The result is a more dynamic, focused and responsive form of management that is better aligned to where the business wants to be – and a significant difference in the way the organisation conducts its business, uses its human resources and handles knowledge. The business is now more professionally managed, more streamlined in its processes, and more able to better measure performance both across and within sites.
