Summary

The workstreams and objectives leading up to and included in the Capacity Improvement Programme Phase 1 were as follows:

  • Operational Strategy Workshop – To assess and agree the areas for improvement, the scope of work to be conducted in the later phases and the assigning of priorities.
  • An Operational Review – A healthcheck to determine in detail the current state of the NWD organisation, to enable the identification of potential improvements and to develop plans to realise that potential
  • Process Quick Wins and Support Processes Improvement Project – This workstream comprised two distinct initiatives: Process Quick Wins (PQW) was designed to improve operational processes and Support Processes (SP) aimed to enhance the business unit planning and support activities.
  • Tangible benefit objectives were set for these workstreams to achieve a minimum 7.5% improvement in capacity.
